NYFW Go-Tos with V Magazine's Dania Curvy

back to list

With NYFW in full swing, we steal a moment with V Magazine managing digital editor Dania Curvy to get her guide to New York during the city’s most fashionable week. Here, the irrefutably stylish editor shares her recommendations for where to…

See and be seen…

Dania Curvy: If you would like to see and be seen for dinner, an obvious choice is Carbone. Expect to see starstudded dining guests–and eat some bomb spicy rigatoni.

Get a bite between shows…

DC: Dante West Village is *actually* the perfect spot to grab a quick lunch. They have tons of gluten-free and dairy-free options which are essential for me.

Pick up a last-minute outfit…

DC:  Some of my favorite pieces are vintage finds. Conveniently located around the corner from my office on the Lower East Side is an amazing contemporary and vintage store, Dana Foley. If I’m ever I’m in a pinch and need a last-minute look that I know is going to be special and unique, that’s my staple spot. I will rarely walk out empty-handed.

Kick up your heels…

DC: Easy! Soho Grand Hotel is THE place. Sink into their plush couches located in their lounge area, where you can contemplate life choices, frantically check your BFA snapshots from the night prior, or use it productively and get a bit of work done before the next show. If you’re hungry, grab a bite or sip some coffee…perhaps opt for a drink. Later in the evening, a DJ on vinyl usually starts spinning and clearly signals it’s no longer time for work, just play.

Escape the madness…

DC: Head to Matchaful for a caffeinated pick-me-up, and chill. The space is quiet enough to make a few calls, send off emails and get a bit of writing done. Best part? It’s super close to Spring Studios.

Sip a cocktail between shows…

DC: BABS is a great choice. I am a big fan of their wine selection, but their cocktails are also top-notch. Another option is a bit further from the shows. However, if I find myself on the east side this season, I will stop at Nine Orchard for their signature martinis. Its decor is cozy and offset with upbeat music to keep energy high.

New York Fashion Week kicks off on Friday, September 9, and officially concludes on Wednesday, September 14.
