Pouring Ribbons
A craft cocktail bar-slash-speakeasy in the East Village with the right amount of swagger, Pouring Ribbons is a must-visit for those looking for well-curated drinks with a story, and a flavorsome one at that; we like the Legendary: cocoa butter-infused Peloton de la Muerte Mezcal with Angel’s Envy bourbon, Jagermeister, Lejay Cassis, ginger and mint. The 88-seat bar, located upstairs from a liquor store on Avenue B, is the creation of three industry veterans of Death & Company and Milk & Honey. To guide your cocktail choice, the drinks are categorized by the following markers: “refreshing,” “spirituous,” comforting” and “adventurous.” Also on offer is a selection of sophisticated bites curated by Beecher’s Handmade Cheese—among them, white bean dip with lemon, garlic and sumac; Marieke Gouda cheese; spicy soppressata; and cornichon pickles.
