Atomix
Recently given three stars and named the No. 1 restaurant in NYC by the New York Times, Atomix by Chef Junghyun Park (of Attaboy fame) has also garnished a Michelin Star and has since been booking up faster than EMP on reopening day. Chef Junghyun’s multi-course taking is served at a 6pm or 9pm seating Tuesday to Saturday (closed Sundays and Mondays) and must be pre-paid in advance. There is an excellent selection of wines by the bottle, and it would actually be a shame not to experience at least one of their incredible cocktails either at the upstairs bar before or after your meal or, as we experienced it, for dessert.
For those who are unable to score a table by way of a reservation or the waitlist, the bar area is very enjoyable and available on a walk-in basis only. They serve the full menu of incredibly creative and well-balanced cocktails (our favorites included the Samioko and BakFlip) as well as a small selection of unique bar snacks including Gim Bugak (Korean fried seaweed chips), fried potatoes, a beef tartare dish, and fried rice stuffed chicken wings.
Pro tip: reservations are released at precisely 10:30am the first of every month for the following month’s date.
