Studio 54: Night Magic at Brooklyn Museum
Bianca Jagger atop a horse, Diana Ross in a bathtub and more—we return to the days of disco.
From April 1977 to February 1980, Studio 54 was the hottest ticket in town, its founders, Ian Schrager and Steve Rubell, the city’s unsurpassable nightlife kings. This spring, the Brooklyn Museum take us back to the years when pleasure and freedom reigned at New York’s most infamous nightclub with an exhibition that integrates photography—including captures from legendary photographers Allan Tannenbaum and Rose Hartman—fashion, drawing, and film, as well as never-before-exhibited costume illustrations, set proposals, and designs. Here, we share a sneak preview of what to expect.
Studio 54: Night Magic is on show at the Brooklyn Museum from March 13 – July 5. You can purchase tickets—here.
